EAMCET 2010 Ranks To Be Out On July 20.

Eamcet ranks will be declared only on July 20 and not on July 16 as announced earlier. The release of ranks will be delayed as the Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) will be able to come out with their re-evaluation marks only on July 18.

Since 25 per cent weightage is given for Intermediate marks while calculating Eamcet ranks, JNTU authorities incharge of Eamcet 2010, decided to delay the release of ranks by four days.

"The board authorities had earlier informed Eamcet committee that they will be able to come out with the re-evaluation marks before July 15. Hence the tentative date of release of ranks was fixed as July 16. But since they extended their deadline, we too had to do the same," said D N Reddy, convener, Eamcet committee.

Meanwhile, the BIE authorities informed that they will need some time till July 18 to complete the valuation process as they received around 8,000 applications for re-evaluation due to allegations of flawed valuation of Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) answer scripts this year.

Meanwhile, JNTU authorities said that even if the BIE fails to deliver the results by July 18, they will have to declare the results on July 20 or 21 as medical counselling is scheduled to begin on July 26.

No Increase In College Management Quota

The state government has ruled out any increase in management quota seats in professional colleges for this academic year (2010-11).
The decision will be a boon for merit students who qualified in Eamcet and Icet as any increase in management quota seats would have automatically resulted in the decrease of convener quota seats, which has a low fee structure.

Currently, the seat sharing between the government and managements in professional colleges for engineering, pharmacy, MBA and MCA courses is in the ratio of 70:30.
The professional colleges had been asking for an increase in the management quota seats and fee structure this year. They had said that the existing pattern was unviable and was pushing the colleges towards financial crisis.

After more than two months of dilly-dallying over the issue, the state government has now conveyed to the college managements that it has no plans to increase management quota seats this year. A formal announcement on the issue will be made on July 15, when the government will take a final decision on increasing the fee structure.

The managements are now pinning their hopes on an increase in the fee structure though reports indicate that the government is not in favour of a fee hike at this stage.

Various associations of professional colleges are trying to come under one roof and put pressure on the government to hike the fee at least by 10 per cent — though they are demanding a hike of over 20 per cent.
The decision to not increase management quota seats came as a surprise for private college managements who had anticipated that the government would definitely hike the quota to ease its financial burden on account of the fee reimbursement scheme.

EAMCET 2010 Counselling May Be Delayed By A Month.

EAMCET-2010 counselling for admissions to engineering colleges in the state is likely to be delayed by about a month, leading to a further delay in the commencement of classes for first-year engineering students.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)has recently sanctioned about 30,000 seats by permitting new engineering colleges and allowing an increase in th eintake of students in the existing colleges. This will be in addition to the existing 2.3.lakh engineering seats in 659 colleges.

According to EAMCET 2010 officials, the process of giving affliation to the new colleges and inspection of the infrastructure in the existing colleges will take a couple of months."Unless the inspection and affliation process is complete, we cannot include the new colleges inthe list for undertaking counselling which is inevitable.we are therefore compelled to postpone EAMCET counselling," said an official.

Officials of the AP State Council for Higher Education(APSCHE) said they were yet to receive th elist of newly-sanctioned colleges from the AICTE authorities.Though EAMCET officials planned to complete the counselling by the end of july, they have decided to wait till the results of revaluation and recounting are out later this month. many students applied for revalvation and recounting suspecting unfair valuation of their Intermediate answersheets.

Besides, the state government is yet to take decisions pertaining to fee hike as well as changes in the convener and management quota.Though engineering colleges are demanding
a hike in the tuition fee, officials feel that the government is unlikely to permit it since reimbursement of fee for certain group of students will be an additional burden on the state.

EAMCET 2010, ICET Counselling May Be Delayed , Ed-CET Counselling Will Start First

Officials are toying with the idea of conducting Eamcet and ICET counselling in August and start classes in September while advancing the Ed-CET counselling to the last week of this month. The delay in Eamcet counselling, which the officials planned to complete in the last week of July, is due to two factors.

First, Eamcet final ranks are delayed this year as the officials decided to wait till the results of revaluation and recounting are out, and the second is the sanction of a large number of colleges this year by the AICTE despite the State government sending signals against it. The officials expected less than 10,000 seats to be added this year, but to their shock, nearly 30,000 more seats were sanctioned by the AICTE giving permission to new colleges as well as increasing the intake in the existing institutions.

Officials say the process of giving affiliations to the new colleges and inspection of infrastructure in the existing colleges will take a longer time than expected and that will force them to shift Eamcet counselling to August. But they are not sure whether even that deadline will be sufficient as the government is yet to decide on the convener and management quota as well as the fee structure for this year.

Moreover, there is no clarity on the dynamics involved in the web counselling process. Though the officials say the web counselling will stay, they are not sure whether to conduct the verification of certificates much before the web counselling, as planned earlier, or along with the counselling process.

In fact, officials are yet to go on record on web counselling and whether they plan to infuse some changes to make the process easier for the rural students. Students and parents are demanding that mock web counselling be allowed for them to have a feel of the process so that they will have more faith in the system and allotment process.

Officials feel there are no issues with Ed.CET counselling and that can be cleared smoothly. The infrastructure is ready and pressure of B.Ed. counselling is not as much as engineering and medical counselling.

EAMCET 2011 May Introduce More Transparent System In Entrance Exam

To make the EAMCET more transparent, authorities are considering introducing a carbon copy to the Optical Metric Reader (OMR) sheet where the students mark their answers. If the system is introduced students can take away the carbon copy right after the examination and it will help them calculate the exact marks once the key is released.

“We want to study the system that exists in Karnataka and make changes if necessary and introduce it from next year,” the EAMCET Committee Chairman, D.N. Reddy said. “This will drive away unnecessary doubts among parents as they will have access to the answer sheet of their wards,” he said.

Prof. Reddy said the EAMCET is already transparent with students allowed to apply for an OMR sheet after the results are announced and our state is the only one in the country to provide this facility. “Moreover, we also seek objections from students and teachers on the key and make changes to it if necessary before going for valuation,” he said.

Providing the carbon will be another feature to infuse confidence among aspirants. At the same time, he did not rule out some students creating problems with tampered carbon copies. He said about 2,000 students applied for photocopy of OMR answer sheets this year and re-verification but not a single fault was found after the scrutiny.

A committee consisting of senior professors - Venugopal Reddy, Principal, Osmania University College of Engineering and Shiv Shanker, a professor in the ANGRAU looked into the re-verification process and gave a report that not a single change was made in the existing results.

Another major mistake committed by students is mentioning the wrong booklet code. This year about 6,000 students mentioned wrong booklet code but the software detected it.

Fee, Indecision On Quota Hit Eamcet 2010 Counselling

The indecisiveness of the state government regarding fixing the fees and management quota seats in professional colleges is having a negative impact on the Eamcet counselling for admissions into engineering and medical courses.
Officials of the higher education department have so far failed to devise Eamcet counselling schedules due to lack of clarity on fees and management quota seats. They say that due to this Eamcet counselling is likely to be delayed by over a month. Officials say that the government will take a decision on the issue only after the by-elections in Telangana region which will conclude by July 30 as any decision on a fee hike might have an adverse impact on the ruling party’s prospects.
The Admissions and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC), which fixes the fee structure for professional courses, has also been awaiting the government’s decision on increasing management quota seats for nearly two months. Unless the seat sharing ratio between the government and college managements is finalised, AFRC cannot arrive at a decision on fixing the fees for professional courses.
It has been more than three months since the government initiated the process to finalise fees and management quota seats in professional colleges under pressure from the managements who are demanding a steep hike in fees and also in their quota of seats.
Eamcet ranks are expected by July 16 but officials are not in a position to initiate the counselling process this month in the absence of a decision on fees and management quota seats.

How To Choose The Right Engineering Branch ?

This is the most difficult question to answer. In my last article i have told you how to choose a college but in this article i will not tell you how to choose a branch but you will tell me that which branch do you like most.

Don't worry i know it is very difficult for you to give the answer so i am here to help you to know your interest in a particular branch. It's very simple just give the answer of some question and then decide yourself that which branch do you like most or which branch suited to you according to your interest. We will discuss branch wise so that you can choose tour branch according to your interest.

Computer Science & Engineering

1.Do you like computer ? (I am not talking about computer games and Internet)
2.Do you want to do something new in computer ?
3.Do you always experiment with your computer and surprise others ?
4 Are you strong enough in mathematics and logic making skills ?
5.Do you like puzzles ?
6.Are you having a good IQ.

If you answer most of the question in yes then this is the branch for you and you are made for this branch. This branch require a good logic making skills and good aptitude ,innovation and hard work. If you are having all these things in you then go for this branch. Information Technology This branch require the same skills as in Computer science & engineering. There is a little bit difference in their syllabus content. There is no big difference as far as placement and job opportunity is concerned both the branch are equally good and well payed.

Electrical & Electronics

1. Have you ever open your switch board and repair it ?
2. Do you want to know the functioning of your home electrical appliances ?
3. Do you want to know what is really going on in a computer CPU ?
4. Are u interested in sensors & transistor ?
5. Do you want to make your own robot ?

If yes then this is the branch for you, again there is a small difference in electrical and electronics most of the syllabus content are same. In most college theses are separate branches but in some college they are same. In short we can say that electronics is subset of electrical. As far as placement and job opportunity is concerned then it depend from college to college.

Mechanical & Production Engineering

1.Are you interested in bike and cars design ?
2.Do you take interest in functioning of daily routine things ?
3.Do you ask basic question to your teachers(i.e how this works ? how that works ?)
4.Do you like physics ?
5.Do you like to make some new mechanism ?
6.Do you like to use your engineering skills for a common man life ?
if yes then you are at right place this is the branch for you. This branch require a real hard work. In most of the colleges mechanical and production are different branches but there syllabus content are more or less similar but in few college this is combine. There is a misconception that in this branch's job opportunity are less as compared to computer science and electronics. Again it's depend upon individual .This is called evergreen branch ,now a days there are a lot of job opportunity and money in this sector if you have talent and ready to work hard.

Civil Engineering

1.Are you interested in building making ?
2.Are you ready to rock the world by your talent ?
3.Have you ever think how this can be done after seeing a building ?
if yes then this is the branch for you. There is a misconception that in this branch's job opportunity are less as compared to others branch. It is not so, if you are hardworking and talented then there are a lot of opportunity in this sector.

Then best of luck and go ahead. I think now you can decide your branch If you don't get the branch of your choice by mistake or due to your lower rank then don't worry I will tell you how to deal with this situation. This is not the end.

The Other Branches / Groups Are Derived From The Core (Above Said) Branches

How To Choose A Right Engineering College ?

The question arises that how to decide a college when there are thousands of engineering colleges in India. In this article we will discuss some of the features of colleges which will help you choose the right college. There are various factor while deciding a college for admission but always keep in mind the following factors while choosing a college:

Infrastructure: This is the most important factor while choosing a college Infrastructure does not means good looking building only. It means that whether a college has sufficient amount of infrastructure according to it's intake capacity. It include classroom, administrative building, workshop, computer labs, various laboratories etc. Because during your four year of graduation you need all these things, so keep it your first preference while choosing a college.

Faculty: Having a good infrastructure is not enough only. After having a sufficient infrastructure it is the faculty that make it useful, otherwise it will be a school without a teacher. Always have a look on college faculty which include Professors, reader, lecturer, teacher-student ratio, visiting faculty, teaching experience etc.

Facilities: This is another important factor that you have to keep in mind.Facilities provided by college assist you during your college period. It include Library, Internet, intranet, hostels, seminar halls, dispensary, student clubs, gym etc.

Placements: This is the most important factor while deciding a college. It not mean that it is the first and last criteria to choose a college. Placements of a college depend upon many factor like it's infrastructure, faculty, facilities provided by college to it's student, college rank, past performance of the students in company, and last but not the least individual talent and personality and many more factors. Have a look on past placement record of college branch wise as well as company wise.So keep all the things in mind while deciding a college.

Extra Curricular activities: This is also one of the factor that should be taken into account because "all work and no play make jack a dull boy" this is true beacuse you have not to study only but have to survive in a competitive environment and for that u have to be a good personality.Extra curricular activities play a very important role in your personality development. So have a look about extra activities provided by college like, annual function, sport function, students club, seminars and workshops, industrial training, social activities, NCC, NSS etc.

Location: This factor does not play a very important role but if it is nearby any industrial or software hub then it may be slightly useful to you as far as your industrial training and placement is concerned but keep this factor at last.

So now question arises that how you can get so much of information about each and every college there are some tips for you

1.Visit the college web site on Internet

2.consult your seniors

3.visit the college personally if possible

4.Take the help of counsellor.

EAMCET 2010 Counselling Procedure

EAMCET 2010 Counseling Procedure

Counseling is the difficult time for the students mainly of engineering stream where they will be in stress in selecting the course and college that is crucial for the rest of their life.

With the cooperation of authorities, this process has been made a comfortable for the students to choose their college and courses without any obstacle.

Kadapa is added to the list of Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Guntur, Tirupati and Warangal as a counseling center. Students of Rayalseema are benefited by this act with which they are saving the time and travelling expenses. All the six centers carry out counseling at one time.

Details of the ranks called on each day of the counseling and the certificates to be brought to the centers are mentioned in the major newspapers by the Department of Technical Education (DTE).

Process of Counseling

Following are the certificates to be brought by the students as specified: income certificate, caste certificate issued by MRO or DRO (if applicable), study certificates from 6th class to Intermediate, memoranda of marks of Intermediate and SSC. Non-local candidates should bring a document which certifies the residence in the State for the last 10 years.

Candidates should register name, rank category, hall ticket number and time of reporting and should sign on the form at the registration counter before which they are made to wait in the waiting hall.

Checking of all original certificates will be done at the verification counter. Candidates are allowed to the main counseling centre only after the certificates are verified once again. Certificates are pinned when the documents are intact. Much or less the same process is conducted in all the centers across the state.

All the colleges having different courses are listed out for the student to choose as soon as the counseling officer enters the rank and hall ticket number into the computer. Details about the college, hostel facility and the faculty are provided by the Counseling officers.

A form is filled containing five options of the course and colleges selected by the student. Total information is shown on the system based on the preference listed in the form. Only one of the parents is allowed to the allotment counter along with the student. Final decision should be made by the student in consultation with the parent present there.

The counseling officer enters the option into the computer as soon as the candidate selects the options, which will be sent to the main server. Main server is connected to all the counseling centers across the state and receives the options of the students from all regions. Marks sequence is followed in allotting the seat to the students. All the details can be checked by the students like course chosen and the college allotted.

One- Stop Experience

After the clearance at the allotment counter, students need to go to the bank counters of various banks within the premises for the payment of the prescribed fee. Provisional allotment letter and fee receipt are given to the students. More than 150 students got their seat allotment done within one hour across the state in earlier years.

Detailed Information

Students have the option of watching the process of seat allotment and the seats left in various courses and colleges even without entering the counseling counter. Seats allotment and regular updates are displayed on the big screen present outside the counseling counter. This arrangement has been made for students in the waiting hall and other places in order to know the seats remaining in a stream and the availability of the seats.

Students need not get worried that lower rank students getting admission before higher rank ones. The server software is intelligent that it allots the seats in the order of rank sequence only. If a 100th ranker enters the counseling counter, he will be given a seat only after the 99th ranker gets his seat irrespective of the region and counseling center.

Details like candidates name, hall-ticket number, course selected, category they belong and college preferred are displayed on the big screen arranged. It shows all the details of the students across all the regions of the state. So there is no chance of any malpractice anywhere.

In the first phase, the general category seats are completed thereby providing chance for every student to compete. Second phase is conducted for the special category candidates like NCC, sports, CAP and others. This will be followed by the counseling for general category again. Major newspapers contain all the information regarding this.

Local and Non-local Status

Non local candidates will have no reservations. They can only compete for the 15% seats altogether. No university has more than 15% non local students, though they get better ranks. All the three regions Osmania, Andhra and Sri Venkateswara universities are following this rule.

EAMCET 2010 Result (Marks) On June 16

Eamcet-2010 results will be announced on June 16 at 9am at JNTU-Kukatpally. For the first time, the results would be sent directly to the students through SMS. The SMSes will reach all the students within an hour of the announcement of results. However, only marks will be released on that day.

EAMCET For Medicine To Be On Separate Day

Shocked by the attempt of some students to leak the Eamcet medical entrance question paper in Kadapa last month, the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, which conducts the test, has proposed to the government that it be allowed to hold the entrance test for medical seats for the entire state only in Hyderabad, on one day, and the engineering entrance test the next day.

“The setting of Eamcet question papers is fool-proof; the lacuna lies in the seating pattern. Also, the examiners are overburdened with engineering and medical entrance tests being conducted on the same day. So, we want to conduct the two tests on different days from the forthcoming academic year,” explained Prof D.N. Reddy, the Vice-Chancellor, JNTU-Hyderabad.

He admitted that “there are chances of a nexus in the districts between staff at the examination centres and students. As only 55,000 students appear for the medical entrance test in the state, we will request the government to conduct it in Hyderabad only.”
